You have found my new web page! Thanks for checking it out 🙂
My name is Brett Bennett and I am a teacher candidate in Victoria, BC at the University of Victoria. While I have only imagined myself as a teacher recently, I have long been a swim coach and have worked with children for years. I am excited about my future career as a teacher and I cannot wait to get started.
Growing up on Vancouver Island, I have been fortunate enough to live, learn, and play on the traditional territory of the Lək̓ʷəŋən Peoples on whose territory I still inhabit to this day. I am grateful to have called this place home since I began schooling here, and I look forward to one day teaching and honouring those who came before us on these lands.
Education
I loved going to school in SD63, where I began as a Lochside Lizard before becoming a Royal Oak Eagle, and finally a Claremont Spartan. There was really no other consideration to go anywhere but the University of Victoria (UVic), as the most important people in my life as similarly decided to stay close home and study here. Where I differentiated myself was attending the Peter B. Gustavson School of Business at UVic, where I found my passion for people and numbers alike. During my six years in this program, I met and lived with some of my best friends, started a marketing business, studied in Denmark, and developed as a swim coach.
